Undergraduate Admission with Alcohol-Related Suspension

This past week, a group of friends and I were ridiculously stupid and decided to "tailgate" before our homecoming pep rally. We got caught, so we are now suspended for at least 3 days, but we must wait until a meeting with administration later on this week to see whats going to happen next. If this 3 day suspension is the extent of my punishment, will it go on my transcripts? Will I need to notify the colleges I have already been accepted to? Is there any point of even applying anywhere else? I have already applied to many of my schools, but there are 3 more I would like to apply to. However, now I'm not sure if I even have a chance, so I'm not sure if I should even try.

I have no previous disciplinary record, and I have a pretty solid application and essay. The main schools I still want to apply to that I am mostly concerned about are University of Delaware and Temple. I'm really am usually a very dedicated and studious student, and I would really like to know your honest opinion if you think this one wrong decision ruined my future.

If colleges rejected every student who drank underage, they would all go bankrupt. I would make a careful effort to explain that it was a single occurrance, and that you learned something from it.

Colleges mainly ask this question because they want to identify students who may be a threat to others. They are particularly interested in anything that involves intentional violence. The issue caught public attention because of the murder of a UVA student by another student with a history of abusive behavior (which was unknown to the University).

Moreover, a drunk driving arrest is probably much worse than being caught with a beer, so be careful out there. Also, a cheating offense is probably much more serious in the minds of Admissions officers than a little beer, because they then begin to question whether other grades were really deserved.
