Hey all,
I’m hoping to open this thread up to any advice for incoming college freshmen.
What to do the summer before, where to eat, how to meet people, how to not suck, how to pick good courses, etc. Absolutely any advice is welcome.

Have fun, but also study ahead for the classes in order to stay on top. Also, ratemyprofessors.com can help in finding good professors.
Where are you going to college, OP?
Use a planner (Google Calendar is popular) to keep track of events and deadlines. I always put everything down at the beginning of the semester, as soon as I get my syllabi.
TL;DR Use Rate My Professor.
I was so eager for a bunch of advice before my freshman year too, but it’s really not necessary. Most of the things to know, you’ll find out during orientation / from upperclassmen at your school. Other than that, you just live your life and figure out what works for you; there’s no way to make your transition to school completely flawless. I guess there are some things that no one necessarily taught me that are good to know.
Keep an open mind.
Step outside of your comfort zone.
Actually really good advice so far. yall seem pretty awesome. Thanks for the help
@preamble1776 has both one of my favorite usernames and one of my favorite responses so far
And @albert69 I’ll be at Northeastern next year for Biochem
Don’t be intimidated by your professors. Ask for help when you need it and use them as a resource.
Get involved in something! If all you’re at college for is classes, then it’ll be a long, lonely four years.
There’s a fine line between being able to laugh off stupid choices and actually regretting your actions. Learn it. Love it. Sometimes it’s the laughably dumb things you do that make the best stories.
