I am a high school senior applying to colleges this fall and I am not sure which majors/schools are the best for my interests. I am very interested in film/television production, but I'm not very sure about the financial stability of such a degree. I also like business/economics stuff as well though.

I would like some degree in business or economics, but I don't know if I should get a BS in that field, or if it would be better to double major in economics and television and then get my MBA.

I am interested in the television/economics degrees at Northwestern, the business/television degree at Texas, the film/economics at Columbia and the economics major at Harvard.

What are your thoughts on these schools and other possibilities? And what are your thoughts on Undergraduate vs. MBA Business Degrees?
(I have a 35 act and I'm in the top 1% of my class is this helps.)

The programs you listed sound good. Just do what interests you because you can get an MBA with literally any undergrad major.

Tip: Texas bases 75% of their admissions on class rank and is one of the top 3 best schools for job opportunities (huge pool of alum that go back to hire) so there's a very good chance you will get a film/television job right out of school.

I personally have very strong feelings on this. Undergraduate years should be spent studying something more fulfilling to you and your true passions.

Business should be a means to an end, a professional training. Doing business in undergrad will take time away from much-needed contemplation on our history, literature, art, science, and other things that define and enrich us.

I chose the BA and then MBA route later. So far so good!

Business defines and enriches us as well.

Major in one of your interests, something you're passionate about. You can get into business from any major. Especially if you graduate from one of a top schools like NU, UT, Harvard, Columbia.

Well I've been told that I can get an MBA with any undergraduate degree.
I've also been told that I don't need any type of undergraduate tv/film degree to get into the entertainment business....

So apparently I only need an MBA, haha.

I've heard that a business degree is very simillar to an MBA, so I am probably most interested in an Economics undergraduate degree.
