undergraduate major

i'm in process of filling out my application. But i'm not sure about my major.
Some people said biology. Others said liberal arts like international studies.
I know some people major in economics and public policy. How to choose?
What about business major? I plan to apply the direct BA-MD program, but possibly opt out after my undergraduate. I think business major doesnt have to deal with patients, so it doesnt look too good from admission committee. Biology and science majors..everyone seems to be doing that. Any advice please.

You can major in anything your heart desires. Check out the Premed Topics forum (<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=480%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/forumdisplay.php?f=480</a>) for some advice.

is business a good major as premed?

"I plan to apply the direct BA-MD program, but possibly opt out after my undergraduate"

you should not be applying to BA-MD programs unless you are 200% you want to be a doctor

if you're not doubting becoming a doctor but rather the individual program, then I suggest you not apply there in the first place. if you got in to that BA-MD, you would be robbing an equally qualified student's spot who actually wants to be in the medical program

no...no..I want to be a doctor in medicine. When I say opt out, I mean I will take the MCAT and if a different school offers me an admission after my junior year in college. I will consider the situation at that time. But you know how's doctor with variety of skills. Open up private practice, or run a hospital etc. You need some business skills. Since freshmen and sophomore are all about premed courses, and first two years of medical school are all about science courses. I like to be versatile and acquire liberal arts education plus some business classes. I like to be double major as undergraduate to expose more areas before medical school

i think if you do apply to a prog it def doesn't need to be accelerated stick with the longer ones

"you should not be applying to BA-MD programs unless you are 200% you want to be a doctor ". There is BA-MD with 8 years in length. Back to the topics, is that possible to be double major in undergraduate.
