Undergraduate Research for future MD/PhD?; Honor's Program; PreMed Shadow Program

Hey Guys!

As soon as my ACT scores are sent to FAMU I hope to be accepted. My undergrad GPA is 4.0 and likely to remain the same. I'm a member of Phi Theta Kappa, my school's Honor Club, FGLSAMP/MESA, and an additional STEM program. I'm interested in joining FAMU's Honors Program and I'd like to hear some feedback from those who've been involved.

I'm going to be a transfer student to FAMU in the fall semester. My major is biochemistry and my future goal is to earn an MD/PhD in the field. Are there any FAMU science majors on this board who are involved in undergraduate research they find meaningful?

Who should I contact once I'm a student to become involved in undergraduate research?

To those who are involved in research, have you been able to participate for an extended period? At which level were you able to become involved (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior)?

In addition, I've hear of a program known as the Pre Med Shadow Program. Is the PSP program still available to students? Did you have a good experience with PSP?

Anybody???

I finally got all of my required documents submitted (ACT,transcripts, etc) on Wednesday and I was wondering how long, on average, you guys had to wait to be admitted? I know its kind of an annoying question, but I’m just curious.

Thanks guys!

It took about 2 weeks for my acceptance, but I have heard that the admissions process is stressful with FAMU. Some people wait months to get accepted.
