I have been looking for colleges that I could truly enjoy... McGill being one of them. I love the atmosphere of Quebec, and would be happy to live and go to school there!

My only concern though, is the facilities available for undergraduate research. Can it be done? Can undergraduates just join a Professor's lab?

There is undergraduate research, like summer NSERC programs, independent study project courses, etc. Make sure to inquire about those with your advisor(s) and profs though (and don't wait until the last minute). Like everything else at McGill, if you want something, you have to look into it yourself, nothing's given to you on a silver platter.

Before the start of university I applied to every lab that I was interested in and got a call from a professor in faculty of medicine. My job there was just entering and analyzing data. There are opportunities, but you have to look for them yourself. You should apply for the work study program, because a lot professors would give you priority over other students who are not in the program. Then just do massive research, send out emails and discuss your interests. Oh, and attend Soup and Science.

No, Soup and Science was last week from Monday to Friday, every day from 11:30 am to 1 pm . Each participating prof of the day would have 3 minutes to present their projects, and students at the end would have a little contest to answer questions and get prizes. Then they serve you soup and students talk to profs about participating in their research projects.
