Uneasy about Bio!

My school has two ap bio teachers this year, one experienced, one rookie. Guess who i got stuck with.

I could on and on about my crappy bio teacher, but let's get right into my real problem. Ap Bio is on monday, meaning i have three days to shape up. No real experience with previous years' bio exam. No real experience with writing free responses. Ive done a little CliffsAP.. From these SparkNotes practice exams, i seem to pull out 3s, according to their scale.

Anyone out there finish with a 5 by reading the cliffsap over the weekend prior to the exam? Because that's what will end up happening, most likely. haha

And also, study tips for cramming review books? I seem to always go back and reread to see if i remember things. Totally craps on my reading efficiency.

kasdiausdiausd;ougpw9ueablsdiub SHOULDVE STARTED SOONER! But to balance the mood of this thread, I totally 5'ed the calcAB, YES!

yeah we have that same issue in my school except i got the experienced one who just lectures on and on and gives powerpoint presentations and expects us to read on our own and understand the material 2-3 days after. ive had exposure to 5 practice tests and ive been bombing them. cliffs and princeton better help me out. so dude ur not alone.

things i have to MAJORLY STUDY!!:

plants (we had to do independent reading on this but i didnt wanna read 500 pages of it just to gain nothing)
animal structure and function (we breezed through this but i was lost in the breeze)
animal reproduction (not majorly but it helps)
ecology (we were supposed to do this over winter break but i kept copying the assignments from my friends >.>)
five kingdom survey (he said we shouldve learned it last year and it should be stuck in our brains. not in mine!!)
evolution (it was over the summer blech)

sooo...... all that in 3 days. and i was supposed to review today too! lets share our miserable bio lives!! :D

Ick...yeah, my Bio teacher is a rookie too. We didn't even get to a whole bunch of chapters, and we just finished Lab 12 today (and I wasn't there because of AP German) but I'm not that worried because I scored safely in the five range on the practice test we took (without studying), even though I knew absolutely nothing about one of the essays.

Well.. I've only been relying on Cliffs ap review book (except labs.. I use some websites for those labs, since I'm really insecure about them). Who knows? Let's see if the myth is true that using only Cliffs for ap bio can score you a 5

Me on AIM:

Me (9:28:59 PM): Someone on college forum: "Let's see if the myth is true that using only Cliffs for ap bio can score you a 5"
Paul (9:29:10 PM): it is
Paul (9:29:18 PM): I didn't actually use my textbook
Me (9:29:28 PM): HURRAH! miracles can still happen!

In case you didn't get it...this guy wrote a huge 47-page review based on CliffNotes the day before the AP exam, and got a 5 on it because of it. ;)

=D Awesome! Thanks, that's a relief... Good ole Cliffs ^^ Even though they got some info that worries me (like they said there are 5 kingdoms instead of 6 o.O) lol

lol...I'm basically gonna do the same thing myself, lucidity. Definitely not using the text to study...

stop complaining...i got bio and physics on the same day, and i have three days to study....but its ez

Haha don't sweat biology guys.

ALL I had planned was cliff's ap biology this weekend, and the 2002 MC Exam.

EXPECTING A FIVE . . . seriously . . it's all memorization, hardly have to apply anything . .

not to be cocky or anything. . . confident, not cocky ;)

E X A C T L Y

Lets be rational. It's not so "easy" if you walk into the exam knowing as much as i know.

Hehe.. Then join the AP Bio Cliffs Party =D

Who else is gonna read cliffs over the weekend? XD

I don't think I'm going to study much at all for bio... I've basically got the textbook memorized. I like memory genes.

I couldn't find that book. I'll probably read sparknotes online. I don't get to join the party! :( But seriously, it will be like "Bio Weekend." Except for today. There's no way I'm studying until tomorrow. I just got out of Euro and I'm going to a Cinquo de Mayo party. :)

i'm reading cliffs over the weekend, hurrah!

Oh yeah, that's today. Spanish club is having a party or something... I don't take spanish =P but my friends do and yeah.. they got a party. I'm not invited =(

And I'm kind of studying/watching TV at the same time '^^ (Finding Nemo's on Disney!!! yay!!).. but tonight and definitely saturday.. I'm gonna read until I go blind hehe. And Sunday.. I'm gonna take practice tests from different bio books (pr, barrons, etc) at my local bookstore.

Ehh.. probably not gonna happen.. I'm never able to keep up with a set schedule =P But yes.. Bio Weekend will be fun >.>

Bio! The death of me! Anyway you gu6ys shouldn't worry 2 much b/c the national average for some essays is like a 1.6/10 or 4/10 the highest. Just as long as you do decent on the MC and don't have a heart attack on the essays your likely 2 get at least a 3.
If I was you I'd study a lot of plants because its the hardest and the most tedious

It is friday afternoon. LET THE BIO CRAMMING BEGIN. Heres my schedule that I probably wont fulfill.

Friday Evening/Saturday Morning -finish reading CliffsAP Bio.
Saturday Evening -SparkNotes Sparkchart and flash cards.
Sunday -Practice Tests Practice Tests

Right now I can get a 3. Shooting for a 4/5!!

whoo! It's saturday... 16 hours of pure reading starting.... NOW

1 chapter per hour. Oh darn.. I forgot about labs.. eh.. I'll review those tomorrow =P

Have a nice weekend guys lol

but there are 55 chapters....
