Hi guys,
So my father used to make $90k a year and my mother makes $40k, for a family of four. Normally, that is WAY over QuestBridge’s qualifying numbers, but my father lost his job. We now only have an income of $40,000 a year coming in, which meets QB’s requirements. Furthermore, my sister is currently at an Ivy League school and we have to pay tuition. Since my father lost his job in January 2015, our 2014 Tax Return (which info I entered into QB’s app) shows that our household income is $130,000. I explained the circumstances in the extenuating circumstances section, and academically I am qualified for QB, but do you think that that 130k number will just immediately disqualify me?
Hi, I am applying to QuestBrige as well. From what I have heard, you have to consider that there are even less privileged students who have struggled with financial problems for much of their lives. I don’t think you would be immediately disqualified, but I doubt that you will have high chances because you have been privileged for much of your life. I hope my answer helped! And hopefully the best of luck to both of us.
