So my grade came out this morning and I got a C- in a class I was expecting somewhere between a B or A in. My grade before the final was a B+/A- and 50% of my grade had been determined. It is an upper-division social science class for my major and obviously I am freaking out. I felt fine after the final and paper that determined the second half of my grade- I didn’t get the feeling like I did so disastrously. I emailed my professor expressing my obvious concern and am sure there has to have been a calculation error. But also it’s Cal, so you never know Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? Are calculation errors like this common? Also how did you get your professor to change your grade? in the case that C- is in fact my final grade if I actually up, I will probably appeal my grade and ask for a change. I know my professor may take days to respond so this is really eating me up.
Step one is to go get your final and paper back from the prof and see what happened.
You should be able to tell if there is a scoring or grade calculation error once you have all your work in front of you.
I already emailed my prof asking what my scores were. If she doesn’t respond before break ends and I have to go to her office to find my scores, will it be too late to request a grade change? Wouldn’t grades be published on the transcript by then?
