HI !! I'm a CC student that will be receiving their AA in December. I just have a few questions.

Can I complete my foreign language requirement at the school before I graduate ?

How is the international studies/political science programs?

Can transfer students stay on campus?

Thank you so much :)

Hi,

Mind you, I’m not a UNF student. However, some of the questions policies pertain to the state of Florida colleges in general. I have visited UNF and seriously considered it for some time.

1) Yes, you can complete your foreign language requirements anytime before your graduate. I know at FSU and UF they require 12 credit hours. UWF, UNF, UCF, USF, only 8 credit hours. I’m not sure about places like Mimai. In fact, many students get the first 8 hours out of the way at their community college and complete the final 4 once they transfer. A few people I know waited to do their foreign language last.

2) Not sure on that one to be honest. Gotta ask a UNF person that.

3) Yes, I personally would recommend that, as it gives you the opportunity to make new friends and plug-in. Atleast for your first semester. There are plenty of upperclassmen who live in dorms (myself included) its worth the convenience of being on campus (rolling out of bed 15 min before class vs. waking up an hour early and driving) At UNF upperclassmen get priority pick on on-campus housing.

Actually I recant number 1. At a community college in Florida to receive your AA degree. You must complete atleast 8 credit hours of your foreign language at your community college. If where your going next and/or your degree requires an addition 4 credit hours, you may complete that where you transfer. When you go the Freshman route into a regular college, you may opt to do your foreign language last (although this may vary per individual university)
