Unfair writing curve in June SAT?

I was wondering if anyone else had any complaints.

-My friend who took the June writing test had a 10 essay, and had 49/49 questions on multiple choice right.

-I got a 12 essay and 47/49 right, but lost 30 points....

there seems to be a disparity... if I calculate it with the raw scores, with essay as 30% and mc as 70%, he had 95% of the test right and I had 97%.

I know this seems minor, but it is really bothering me. Anyone else have this problem?

you can get a 10 essay and still get an 800

yes...

okay, to be clear my point was that

my friend got 95% of the raw test right and got an 800 on March
I got a higher percentage right and got a 770 in june

I know how it works, but it is strange how someone could lose 2 points out of 10 on the essay and get an 800, but someone else could lose 2 MC questions out of 49 and lose 30 pts... no?

simply because the writing section is similar in difficulty from test to test; does not vary much like math

I thought the June curve was weird. It was way off from the college board blue book range. I missed like 10 and got a 61, then an 8 on the essay gave me a 600. This past time, everything finally clicked an I missed one or two (find out tomorrow) for a 78 and then a 9 on the essay for a 770. I don't see how on the June one an 8 would bring down an already low score of 61...

so then why are you posting if you clearly know this
