<p>one of my best friends and i both want to go to emerson. its purely coincidence, and i personally do not mind at all going on my own. in fact i really looove going away to summer programs and things like that not knowing anybody.</p>
<p>so i have to problems..keeping the above information in mind.
1) i have a better chance of getting into the school than she does [im not saying that i will get in and she wont...but its legit - it could happen]. i think she is aware of this to a degree. she is also really sensitive about academics and things [she doesnt have the greatest grades or extracurriculars..they are by no means bad..she is just ultra-sensitive about stuff like this]. anyways...if i do get in and she doesnt..what is the best way to deal with this? it is both of our first choices, and she says that she cant see herself anywhere else. i was just thinking about how difficult it would be to celebrate it if she happens to not get in.</p>
<p>or 2) the other potential problem is that, if we both get in, she might want to stick together once we get to college. she is one of my best friend, but one of the things i am most looking to in college is getting out there and meeting new people. she isnt incredibly independent yet, and has never been away from her long-time friends or family for an extended period of time. so..what is the best way to deal with this?</p>
<p>have any of you ever had either of these problems? how did you deal with them?</p>
<p>and before anybody attacks me or anything...i know that this is early..but i want to be prepared just in case. this is preemptive planning for two situations that i am hoping i wont have to deal with.</p>
