Unfortunately

I will not be attending BU come this fall. I was accepted, yes, but alas even with the great financial aid package they gave me it was still $8,300 short. Many of you would kill to have such a package, and I am very lucky, but with my twin brother attending college at the same time as myself (to BU no less), well two tuitions and you have to make sacrifices. I will be attending Rutgers in NJ (with my best best friend at that - we may even room together, which would be awesome). I am very happy going to Rutgers and I know I am gonna have a great time. After taking placement tests this Saturday down there and finishing the pre-calc section before 95% of the other students, I know that I will be at the top of the food chain and that I can relax a bit when it comes to uber competition.

Anyways, congrats on all acceptees - you will be seeing my twin brother at BU these next four years. He’s a CFA student, majoring in graphic design. If you want some more info on him, just PM, email, or AIM me.

Rutgers '09!

There's something to be said of having to pay 45k a year to attend a private uni, which although good, does not give the best aid. And we're not even looking at the cost of transportation, living in a city, weekend expenses, etc...

Cost was probably one of the larger factors in my turning down BU. But, Boston still has a special place in my heart, and here I am scanning the BU posts. ^_^

Sorry you were still 8,000 short. In the future you may have been able to get that cost off set by being a RA w/ free room & board but that doesn't help as a Freshman. Well Rutgers is a great school, lots of research going on there and with J&J around the corner I would guess there are good internships there as well as in NYC. Not to mention, you can visit your brother whenever you need a Boston fix. Good luck.

Yeps - thanks for the support. I love Boston and I know my way around there actually pretty well - better than NYC actually! haha anyways, have fun all in BU!
