UNH Over Enrolled

A person in admissions told me they accepted more this year. Apparently it's one of the ways they're trying to balance out funding that's being cut
I haven't had any real problems getting the classes that I wanted. I did have to take a different section of stats than I wanted (8 am vs 3:40), but other than that have had no problems, and I've had the second to last registration day every single semester (including orientation). I'm beginning to think that our registration time slots are rigged and not really random like they tell us... I do know people who have had problems, even getting courses necessary for their major, but with major requirements a visit to the advisor can usually get things overridden so that they can take the class on time

Michigan's economy is in terrible shape -- auto companies are still cutting back and thousands lost jobs in the last six months. This ripples out into the rest of the state's economy. Plus, Michigan, while expensive for a state school, is still less than half the price of a private school for in-staters. For Michigan families, U-M and MSU are looking pretty good.

snorky, they generally don't release numbers until they are "official," but if one of the Michigan papers does a story on the admissions outlook, sometimes they'll give some round figures.

i hear u, lake washington. did UW do this to convince somebody that they need to fund UW-Bothell & UW-Tacoma plus a new UW? Ew, and the freshmen all get squeezed? i just won't let this ruin my college experience but overcrowded girls can be mean girls. guys may be cooler with it. UW has so little dorm space to begin with and no room to build. i don't wanna join a sorority and i don't want an apt freshman yr so i just have to deal. so far i just saw 1 article on this. i haven't gotten a letter from UDub or anything. can't wait to see how they spin this at advising & orientation do u think more students picked UDub cuz they didn't get into their other choices in this overcompetetive yr or because it is cheaper for instaters and the economy is worsening somehow and they aren't going to private schools even if they do get in cuz they have uDub for cheaper????? sounds like that for michigan
