UNI Accounts

Has anyone set there UNI account yet?

Because every time I try, it fails dismally.

Help?!?

Be patient. It will come some time in May, apparently.

How does one get a UNI account? Mail, email, by request?..hard to find info.

don’t we need our UNI to finish our housing app and meal plan app?

^^^^ yes… I was wondering the same exact thing

You just use the temporarily ID you get assigned during application. (the CID)

How is the UNI necessary to finish the housing/meal plan app? I really don’t see how it is.

Needed to complete Step 6 Dining Dollars and Flex Enrollment.

If everything is marked “complete” through step 7 EXCEPT for Step 6 and for Step 4 Roommate Request (can’t seem to leave this blank…), is that considered complete by May 1?

“All of the steps, up through at least the Statement of Intent, must be completed by May 1.”

on my app it says “applied” and under that “not completed”, so i m guessing that they will assign us the dorm first, then we can request our roommates from the dorm. By that time we should have received our UNI’s to finish our meal plan app.

As a part of SSOL, students may add funds to their Dining Dollars and Flex Account for use at dining locations, vending machines, laundry facilities and other on and off campus locations as they become available. Please keep in mind that your Dining Plan will include some Dining Dollars. Any Dining Dollars added through SSOL are in addition to your Dining Plan.

^So I understand that the UNI is needed to access the SSOL, but it’s to add funds, which we don’t need right now because we haven’t even started using our funds. What I’m trying to say is that the UNI is not necessary at this moment.

And yeah, I guess the application is considered complete even if Step 4 and 6 are marked not complete, if that makes sense.

And no, luofernando, if you want to request a roommate, you must do so now. You can’t request a roommate after you’ve received your dorm assignment. That wouldn’t make sense.

Still asking, how and when does one get a UNI account, a UNI number?

Columbia will let you know directly.

I already got my UNI account.
You go to myUNI and select “Activate a NEW UNI Account”

Somewhere on the Columbia site it says that your housing/dining application should say “applied”, but it will continue to say “not complete” until you have been assigned a room.

^^What do you put for the UNI part?

You select “Look up UNI” on the right.

…and enter your name

pinkyy, I tried that, but it doesn’t yield any hits for my name in the database…

is pinky an early admit?

Eh, even if he was, it wouldn’t make any sense. I got in early for the class of 2012 (but took a gap year).

This is what it says on the site:

“New students become eligible for accounts once Student Information Services enters them into the student database. For students starting in the the Fall semester, this occurs at some point during the previous summer.”

Eligibility

I don’t really have any reason to be making this up. I’m a regular decision admit.

I made my UNI the day results came out, March 31st. At that time, I was able to find my name in the system, but apparently this is closed for us–since I can not find my name now. I’m guessing it’ll re-open for confirmed students later on and that it was only closed down to prevent all admitted students from creating CU emails.
Again, that’s just my guess.

Even though I can’t find my name in the database, my UNI account still works fine. I just used my UNI email to confirm myself for Columbia’s network on Facebook.
