Unicorporated vs. Corp. assets on FAFSA & CSS

I currently have business cash in business checking accounts, but am not incorporated. In the FAFSA and CSS, I plan to indicate this cash as business, not personal, eventhough my business is not a corporation.

Is this okay or do I need to have a corporation?

Cheers,
Paul in Los Angeles

Businesses can be incorporated (C or S corps) or any of a number of other forms such as partnerships, sole proprietorship, LLCs, etc. You don’t need to be incorporated to report a business value on PROFILE.
