Unified Acceptances

For those of us that will be going through this process next year and are considering Unifieds for our kids can we get a list of the acceptances that were gotten via auditions at Unifieds.

I auditioned on Tuesday February 7th in Chicago for Emerson and received my acceptance letter into the BFA MT program on Monday March 27th in the mail. It was a huge letter- came sooner than the April 1 date it was supposed to...so I was shocked! The only schools I am still waiting to hear from are my Unified schools: Hartt, Webster, and Ithaca.

I auditioned February 12th in Los Angeles and was accepted for musical theatre BFA at Ithaca (March 18), UMiami (March 24) and Emerson (March 27).

I auditioned for Emerson Feb 11th in SF. Still haven't heard anything.

I auditioned for Hartt, Ithaca, Otterbein (walk-in) and Penn State (walk-in) in LA on the 12th. Haven't heard anything from the first two yet, and was rejected from the second two...

What is wrong with my slow mail?

I auditioned for and was accepted to Cornish College of the Arts at the LA Unifieds on Feb 12, I also auditioned for Otterbein and PSU that day and was rejected from both.

Don't worry, I haven't heard from Ithaca or Hartt yet myself

When my S did his auditions 3 years ago he did most of them in San Francisco, (Minnesota Guthrie program, Juilliard, Rutgers) and at the Hilton in LA (Unifieds: CMU, Hartt, Boston U, Suny Purchase, NYU- which was done at a nearby hotel). The only on campus auditions he did was USC and Cal Arts because we live in Southern California. He also applied to CSUF.

This is how it turned out

Rejected- Juilliard, Suny Purchase, Boston U, USC, NYU
Waitlisted- Rutgers
Accepted-CMU, Cal Arts, Hartt, U of Minnesota Guthrie Program, CSUF (no audition for CSUF)

Grades and SAT scores were most likely a factor at BU, USC, NYU and possibly Purchase.

BoCo Unifieds in NY - accepted
U of Arts in NY - rejected

Your mail isn't slow; the schools are. I called Hartt yesterday and was told that the decision letters will be out by the end of April. Yes, "end of April." I pointed out to her that other schools want decisions no later than May 1, and that this timeframe likely eliminates Hartt from consideratoin for most students. She was . . . unmoved.

END of April?--unbelievable- that throws a wrench in the machine doesn't it?
Was there some reason given for the lateness?

I thought Ithaca was bad with April 15!!! They are more than likely going to lose a lot of potential students unless it is their top or only choice!! I am baffled by the delay!! :~

I got into BoCo from the NY Unifieds, and Syracuse from the NY regionals (though not the same weekend as Unifieds) . . . I'm still waiting on a few schools so I'll letcha know about those when I have more info!

i got into UArts from the NY Unifieds

Last year my daughter auditioned at the NY unifieds for 4 schools:
UArts - accepted
Roosevelt - waitlised
BOCO - rejected
CCM - rejected

I spoke with someone at Hartt yesterday and was told I would have something by next week because they send everything out during the first week of April. Hmmm.....I guess it all depends on who you talk to....

Might be nice to have this on th Hartt thread- any one know how to move it?

Did you get the since that YOU personally would be receiving your letter next week or that all letters would be sent out then?

i meant ' sense' not since in my last post
;-)

Hey Mboi! Whatcha doing on the computer when you should be at school, lol?
Congrats on BOCO, btw! That's awesome!!!!! Call me about Sat. - k?

Too bad their admissions office is sending mixed signals. Maybe a third person can call and we can get a tie-breaker.;-)

ok I tried to call Hartt to clarify notification date--no answer
I did email though- I will share what I hear to 'break the tie"!!
