UNIFIED AUDITIONS IN LOS ANGELES

Does anyone know if there is a benefit to doing one unified over the other. it would be easier for us to go to LA, but I am being told that its to late?

We are also contemplating doing only LA. There are only a couple of schools on D’s list that go to Unifieds, so we’re thinking a trip to Chicago in February might be an unnecessary trip. I know lots of “extra” schools attend Chicago that may not go to LA. I would love to hear from others what their experience or advice would be.

We know many kids who have auditioned in LA. Many had very good results. Yes, some schools may have already filled some spots in their class but if they are holding auditions, there are still spots open. Otherwise they would not hold auditions. Most schools wait until all auditions are over before offering spots anyway.

And many schools (non unified schools too) do go to LA. Some hold auditions the day or two before Unifieds start. People who go to LA auditions say it is great and weather perfect.

I don’t think it is too late. There are people accepted to schools every year who audition there

I know kids that have been accepted to top tier schools from LA, so they obviously hadn’t filled their classes yet- but, I also know there are some schools that don’t attend LA Unifieds, so something to double check.

My two cents: The process is already so expensive and time-consuming – as long as the schools you’re applying to are going to be in LA, go where it is easiest and most cost-efficient for you!
