Some of the Chicago schools started on Saturday, some have auditions today at the Palmer House (Sunday). Some only hold Dance Calls on 1 or 2 days (usually Monday and/or Tuesday). Not all schools audition on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Some only do one or two days.
Also Artsbridge and TPAP.
Not the best weather day it seems. Wishing safe travels to all. Try not to worry if your travel plans change. (easier said than done I know). Make sure you communicate as soon as possible with any school for whom you may miss your audition time. The schools will do their best to see you if your travel plans are delayed. They know this is out of your control. The important thing is to arrive safe and sound. And they will most appreciate those who let them know of any delays so they can see others during that time.
This is the list we were given of all schools auditioning in Chicago during Unifieds, including the Palmer House and other locations

Alright I’m here! Where is everybody? Hey… Where’s the roads? Where’s the BUILDINGS? All I see is White!! #snowmageddon
Anyone have info on schools taking walkins?
On the train to Chicago. Almost had a heart attack before leaving when I realized I didn’t have a cd of my accompaniment, but luckily I have a friend in Chicago who can burn one for me and get it before my audition tomorrow. Does anyonne have info on walkins? How they work and what schools usually do them. I’m only doing one day of auditions and would like to fit in as many as possible.
Greetings from #blizzardfieds. At Millikin auditions. They didn’t have many no shows because of weather, but most prob came in yesterday.
This Gulf Coast girl loves this white stuff!
Safe travels everyone
BAL everybody! Safe travels, too.
It’s official. I’m sitting at a dance call… Without so much as a single beer… And I’m missing the superbowl. #idontlikeMTanymore.
Didn’t you see “pack a cooler” on the list?
just an FYI: Northern Colorado just cancelled their auditions for Chicago. They cant secure flights into this barren tundra.
Crossing my fingers for everyone dealing with this weather! Just remember that things can sometimes work out in the strangest of ways…last year, when NY Unifieds fell the weekend of the ‘polar vortex’, a similar snowstorm grounded all flights out of the Midwest and Viterbo faculty couldn’t make it into NYC. I ended up auditioning for a Viterbo alum who was meant to be monitoring the auditions for the faculty. I walked out of the audition and told my dad that it was a bust, that I’d never get in because I hadn’t been in front of faculty. But the alum passed on her comments on my audition to the faculty, the faculty spent some extra time reviewing my Acceptd prescreen, and I was ultimately admitted (and now attend!). I call it a miracle, but I’d like to think the moral of the story is that you can’t write any school off yet…even if their reps aren’t there!
Although I can’t help but think that we’d all be better off if Unifieds were in early March as opposed to late January/early February…it seems like every year in recent memory has had SOME sort of weather dilemma!
…or move them to Atlanta.
Or New Orleans… Maybe push it back a little … Maybe coincide with Mardi Gras ??
Don’t think I’ve ever looked at the weather app on my phone and seen “Blizzard” before! Hopefully some reps will be able to get in today. Many are here but I know they are having to do a lot of shuffling between missing reps and students.
-5 windchill and a foot of snow, did not go out for donuts this morning.
There’s always the attached bagel place. Bruegger’s, I think.
Miller’s was okay, good atmosphere and variety, but I ordered a filet, which was really expensive and possibly the worst steak I’ve ever had. I have heard that the brownies are famous, but when I called room service last night (around 10 p.m.), they told me there was a two hour wait.
The D wasn’t bowled over by the brownies, but her not bowled over may be another person’s DELISH!
