union/amc or upenn?

which college/program would u guys rather attend? union/amc program or undergrad at upenn. i need some feedback because i think it's likely i'll get into both and have no clue which one to pick. I want to be a doctor and like amc, but i don't find union that appealing.

GOSH i wish i had your confidence...lol

if i ever get into a situation like that, first i'd go on a 10-day religious pilgrimage and thank God for making my life so awesome...hahah :D...ok sersiously...i'd personally choose union/amc...because i know i want to be a doctor and my decision ain't changing... it all comes down to how sure you are about pursuing medicine i guess...and there are a TON of threads that talk about this very same topic, so i suggest you look there for far better responses then mine :)

Choose Penn and look into Penn Medical School the nation's oldest.

id say UPenn, if you wanna get into a nice prestigious med school, but union if your too lazy to take MCAts. they are both gonna be 8 year routes. but for me id choose UPenn

Yeah, Union/AMC would seem like a compromise to me. I mean I'd always regret whether or not I should have gone to UPenn. I would choose the tough Ivy and take MCAT.

I have to disagree. If you are really set on becoming a medical doctor, it doesn't matter where you go, it just matters where you end up. Who knows, even if you do go to U.Penn, you are not guaranteed to get into medical school. Plus, Union/AMC has the benefit of earning on MBA in addition to the BS and MD degree. I would go with the Union/AMC. U.Penn is a great school, but with the competition these days, it's better to be safe than sorry later.

the thing is, though, union sucks. the campus is pretty and all, but the kids aren't smart or intellectually capable as ivy league kids. also, from what i saw, they all seemed like rich, white, preppy/football player kids, and i wouldn't fit in there. there's no diversity.

It doesn't matter though where you go, it has to do with what you do with the education you receive. Going to a not so good school just might give you more opportunities to explore other courses that you might not have been able to at a more rigorous school. Plus, I can not believe that ALL of the kids are like rich, white, preppy/football player kids.

yeah, at the very least, you'll meet some super-cool medically motivated people who have made it into the program with you lol.

Unless you're already accepted under ED, what makes you think you're set for UPenn?

Well if you can't be in a school with regular Union College kids, what are you going to do as a doctor. You are always going to have to relate to "normal" people who aren't as "smart" as you. You know what I'm saying?
Like ofcourse you'd enjoy the company of ivy league school kids more but as a practicing doctor you'll have to deal with all so you might as well in college. blah it makes sense in my head man
