Union College Engineering

My college advisor recommened me to Union college. Now I have done research on the school and it seems like a great fit for me. My only concern is how prestiges is the school's engineering program. It doesn't seem that "famous" at all. Can someone tell me if it is a good school or not for engineering?

What's a union college? Did somebody go on strike?

NO silly. Union college is a liberal arts school in upstate New York. It is the first liberal art school to offer engineering.

I have a hunch that the rankings between #1 and #1 are going to change this year...

Don't worry about a college being "famous", worry about fit and not how other people will see the name... It won't hurt your chances getting a good job or getting into a good grad school (assuming you do well and all).

rocketDA: I'd be a little surprised if 1-1 changed, but I guess I wouldn't mind since I really hate how people on campus hold up the ranking as if it means much.

John,
You are right. I know what I said does not really lead easily to me supporting what you are saying.

Rankings often don't tell very much... especially when you are considering things like peer perception...
