My dad's boss at BNL spoke with him today, and mentioned that Union College (I'm in NY, so it's a roughly 4-5 hr drive from here) is a good college for premed students. I want to shoot for premed, and major in Biology, preferrably neuroscience or something to do with brain science. (BCS...) Was my dad's boss correct? Or perhaps my dad ticked him off and now he's getting revenge by sending his employee's son to a college which won't do to much.....! Argh!.....Sorry....Thanks for any help!

great school with very strong sciences. great track record for med school

Depends, There are some universities with exceptionally high med school acceptance rate, low competition among the student body, grade inflation, easy As, excellent research opportunities, great/easy access to a nearby medical center, strong pre-professional advising office, etc...

does Union have those things? That is pretty much the ideal premed school for me.

Phead, I'm right there with you. 'A's don't really come easy, but yeah I get what you mean. Have you had any luck finding such a college? If there are any such colleges in the northeast, I will personally send anyone who can mention any a thank you card. (There's a $5 surcharge though...just a little heads up....)

I think Muhlenberg, Ursinus and Washington and Jefferson are very good for premed also. They are all in PA.

Yes, Union College can do for you what you want - it is excellent for medical school placement. However, as it is a small school, you need to check its environment - it has its own "culture" that you may or may not like.

Ursinus has great med school placement!
