Union LIM vs Ohio State BS/MD vs Brown

this situation is a possibility for me. a likely one at that. i love things about all three schools. if i get into two of them what should i do? there are certain pro's and con's about each and that's all i can think about and idk what to pick. suggestions?

All three are great colleges with exceptional med programs.
I would pick the guaranteed med programs.

1.Ohio State BS/MD
2.Union LIM
3. Brown

Brown is the perfect college but is it worth the four years of stress trying to maintain your GPA for med school applications?

I do not know about OSU bs/md, but OSU Medical School is very highly ranked and well known. OSU is not walk in a park though, none of pre-med classes are. D. witnessed many valedictorians from private HS changed their professional plans after first Bio class (and all of them have had AP Bio in HS). Do not expect to relax, do sport or anything like that at any place.

Well if you mean just regular Brown undergrad and not PLME, then I would say 1. Ohio State 2. Brown and 3. Union. Assuming all are similar financially in your case, if you go to Brown the experience is great and you will likely get into a great medical school and do much better than Union.

If you mean Brown PLME, then bump up Brown to #1.

i dont think it would even be a contest if the op meant plme lol.

Get in first, then come here and ask.

Med. School rankings: OSU - #32, Brown - #53

I applied to this program and was forwarded to the next level. I hoping to get wind of an interview any day now. But I have also applied to RPI, NU, Brown, etc. I noticed LIM because of it’s focus on Management, but what does that mean in the long run? Why this program? What are a pros for Union LIM? What will it give me (other than an MBA)?

Well if you want to pursue a health care administrative position after you have practiced for lets say 10 years, you have an MBA, in business Healthcare administration. This position could be the head of the Hospital, Medical school dean, Insurance company board member, etc. The MBA alongside your MD helps to solidify your background as an expert in health care administration alongside whatever you got your residency in.

The fact that you dont have to take your GMATs to get your MBA is also a plus.

BhoiwalaD,

1) Are you in Union or RPI combined med program?

2) Any ideas about merit scholarship from both Union and RPI for my son whose stats are following

- STA1=2250 (CR=700, Math=750, WR=800)

 • ACt=35
 • SAT2: Math=800, Chem=800, Physics=740, Bio=740
 • GPA=4.32 (Wt)

Thanks!
