Union vs. Dickinson vs. Bucknell

Perspective student trying to narrow it down. Any thoughts?

also lehigh, colgate & franklin & marshall

Union has a tremendous alumni network. For being such a small school, I constantly trip over alumni in the working world.

i’d say you should narrow it down to union and colgate, maybe bucknell too

I dont know anything about Dickinson but I had also been looking at Bucknell and Union - what I discovered is that academically they’re comparable - Bucknell is out of the way (in the middle of nowhere) and has a religious affiliation of some kind. In the end I chose Union because academically I have some first knowledge of the programs (my brother attends and is a senior) and theyr’e impressive, and I have a chance to get on the soccer team (hopefully)

Are you sure Bucknell has a religious affiliation? We’ve visited there with 2 of our kids and there was no mention of that at all.

Maybe there was one at one time, by its founders???

Bucknell has no religious affiliation. Mike2015 did not do his homework.

I applied to this program and was forwarded to the next level. I hoping to get wind of an interview any day now. But I have also applied to RPI, NU, Brown, etc. I noticed LIM because of it’s focus on Management, but what does that mean in the long run? Why this program? What are a pros for Union LIM? What will it give me (other than an MBA)?

Ends up my son was accepted ED to Colgate and I am thrilled! One selfish reason is because I still feel hurt that my two older brothers went to Union and I was rejected. Only 2 kids were accepted from my high school that year - the two with the highest ranks. Admissions officers obviously didn’t give any consideration to my brothers’ legacy. That equates to lots of tuition my parents had to pay. My grades, activities, etc. were no worse than my brothers. However, Union became more well known in my community when I applied and 20 kids from my own high school applied that year. I definately would have gone there if accepted. Ironically, the two that were accepted didn’t go there. One went to U of PA since Union was a safety school and the other went to F&M - same as me!!!
Good luck to you!
