Unique and Creative or Cheesy and Silly

There seems to be a lot of essay topics on here that are "forbidden", so I thought I came up with a unique topic, but I think it may not be..I don't know, serious enough I guess would be the word.

The topic I came up with is hats; I have many of them. I also have many different personalities and I think that each of my hats represents a different part of me. I feel like I could say a lot about my hats and how I am a different person when I wear each of them.

What do you think? My other topics seemed a bit cliche: my struggles in gymnastics, joining marching band and talking about why my friends and I eat lunch upstairs (which also seemed a tad silly)

Actually, the hat topic representing different sides of you is pretty cliche. That said, essays are generally written off as cliche through the structure of the essay and the ideas explored rather than the actual topic…I would say the one about lunch upstairs sounds honest and intriguing. It has the potential to be a unique essay.

Silly topics can be great if you can pull it off :).

Nothing wrong with cliche topics or silly topics. It really depends how you can pull it off.
