So for one of my teacher recommendations i sent the invite in mid november, early to give the teacher plenty of time.

I gave the teacher a card thanking her.

I emailed her a week ago when i saw the rec wasn't done yet. She said she never got a request

I went to check on the status and realized with horror that i typed her email wrong....

now its close to christmas and I sent her a email and another request 2 days ago but she hasn't responded.....

What do you guys think my options are at this point? Wait until the day after Christmas and send another email if theres still no response? What should I say? just apologize like crazy?

(do take note that the letter is written but just needs to be uploaded on common app website. so it wouldn't take too long to do....)

Admissions offices are closed anyway. Most are closed until after Jan. 1 and aren’t doing anything with applications now. Your teacher also probably is offline and busy with her holiday, and will contact you after Jan.1 to let you know that she sent it. If she doesn’t contact you then, e-mail her again or call her, and yes, you should apologize for inconveniencing her.

Um… The same thing was kind of happening to me. The commonapp requires like a midyear report from counselors and she said she was unavailable until after the break. If the school requires a Counselor recommendation, than your pretty much out of the game UNLESS you can contact her/him (for that school only)!

So do you guys think that if worst comes to worst and my teacher recs are sent late, would they even look at my application or throw it in the rejected pile without a further look?

Colleges do say that they will not look at your application until your SAT/ACT score reports come in. So you can hope that your teacher gets them in before they arrive.

Also, if you applied really close to the deadline, and the college views applications as they come, then obviously you’ll have more time.

I’m not sure exacty happens if they DO get to your app without them. But I doubt they’d just throw it away.
