hello all i am a asian indian-canadian/east african canadian male from
vancouver, british columbia, canada
now i will be graduating in june and am looking to get into some decent
undergraduate business programs internationally in the us for next years apps (i know im kinda late) the reason for this is because i have been travelling around europe and did not focus on apps for this year, kinda silly in the end i think.
my gpa is kinda low (2.75) because my mind was not at the right places at times
but my sats are decent (2000) Math 660 CR700 Writing 640 and i am taking them again in may to improve my score to somewhere around 2200
i can get some fairly nice recs so that also isnt too big of a worry
some of the schools i was highly interested in and would like to know what my chances are getting in despite my lower gpa are as follows

michigan ann arbor
nyu stern
boston u
carnegie mellon
unc - chapel hill
ut - mccombs
indiana bloomington
uwisc - madison
u of illinois - urbana
emory
purdue
uwash
u of florida
uof arizona
asu
u of georgia

thanks to all people who respond in advance and if anybody has any suggestions or recommendations on other schoolsi should consider looking at please reply :)

p.s. financial aid will not be a major problem so posters can also take that into consideration

can you explain the enviroment you went to school in?

assuming the canadian system is similar to the US's

mich: reach
NYU: reach
BC:reach
Carnegie: reach
UNC: reach
UT: reach, but less of a reach
Indiana:reach
UWISC: reach
U of illinois: reach
emory: reach
purdue: ??
UWASH: reach
U of florida: reach
u of arizana: less of a reach
ASU: match
u of gerogia: ??

um...ASU has a great business program...go there

its kinda weird because if you get 2200 SAT's that would imply you are a fantastic student...but on the other hand, 2.75 is a bit low

i have good recs or am able to obtain good recs from local politicians, major religious leaders, my principal, and some of my teachers
the reason for my crap gpa is my lack of focus throughout highschool and just basically not caring for a long period of time but i have changed that all around tremendously and my teachers and administraitors would vouch for me also on those points that i am a talented student who let his talent waste for a few years..i would say my good sats came from my focus and studying the material with a goal in my mind..my peers and teachers would also say im a good test taker

the environment i went to school in i guess is pretty similar to the american system also, but i dont think any of my schools were very competitive at all and were more athletics driven

You'll get purdue... I got in with 550 CR 580 Math 590 Writining, 620 Math IIC, and Korean with Listening 730... But I had a 3.85 Unweighted GPA... but your SAT owns mine!

SAT IIs definately help... but other than that... you have a good shot. and no i'm not an international student. also it might depend on your major.. if you're applying for the Engineering program it is more difficult.

yeah nope no engineering program for me im trying to get into a decent business program with a major in something like international business, management, or finance

yeah thanks alkim for responding with his comments i applaud your helpfulness
if theres any others that can give feedback its more than welcome :)

Actually, there's not much unique here. Lots of kids with great potential blow high school. I would go somewhere local and do great for a year or two and then transfer. You won't get into a top 25 business school now and you're clearly capable.

yeah i considered that...but im thinkin might as well go for the shot i still believe there will be some colleges willing to take a chance and if i bring that sat score higher maybe it would improve my chances
