check this website out, it predicts college admissions, but not for real, only fun, but it helps!

if you send me your grades from sophmore and junior year, including honors and ap, ill calclate your UC GPA.

55% for stanford!! lol

hehe, this is such a flawed calculator, for so many ways, i'm sorry :p but it's fun nonetheless.

Harvard called for a second interview. Which means I'm probably borderline. Hope it goes well!

good luck!

you obviously have many things going for you, so good luck and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

There are a total of 6 people nationwide who have distinguished themselves as visibly in research as you have, at this point in time. That alone should make you confident of a Harvard acceptance letter, in my opinion.

TWO Harvard interviews - heavens... Good luck and best wishes!

Thanks Ohio_mom!! :) I'm hoping it's a good sign ~crosses fingers~

"My Common App essay was about Indian food"

Haha, I started my essay with me cooking indian food... thouhgt I might very well be the only person with that in it.

hehe...are you Indian? I'm Jewish so I can't really cook Indian food (or, well, anything) quite well, but oh boy can I enjoy a good vindaloo ;)

You sound like a nice, hard working jewish boy from Looong IIIIIland! So many mother's dream. Unfortunately there are many with similar profiles and they all want to wear a crimson H. Let's hope one of the dart's hits your app!

GuitarManARS:

UCB: Match (out of state)

Wow, your stats are amazing. I really think being involved in astronomy research as a 16 year old and having published to top journals will help you a lot. Winning at the Siemens levels will generally get you into Harvard. Your SATs are good, too. Good luck!

"hehe...are you Indian? I'm Jewish so I can't really cook Indian food (or, well, anything) quite well, but oh boy can I enjoy a good vindaloo "

Nah, I'm a white guy... I taught myself how to cook it, not too hard really.

Actually, there are some very good cookbooks out on Indian cooking, recently. Ethnicity is not destiny - at least as far as food goes! My son does some pretty mean sushi, and he's about as far from Japanese as you can get!

Just to reiterate what another poster said: that method of dividing your average by 25 is completely wrong: you could have a perfect 4.0 unweighted average with a 98, as long as all your grades are A's. And by the way, I hope you found a way in your ap to let them know you've met with faculty in your field of interest. My son, Harvard '09, also a research kid (Intel, Siemens, publications, etc.) met with someone doing similar research at Harvard, and conveyed that in the short Common ap essay. I think that demonstrates how serious you were about making sure that H. offers what your looking for, and therefore shows your level of interest.

first indian dish I made.. its really easy and really good. if you want to learn, try it(cook it extra long and it really thickens up and gets spicier).

edit: oh, and like double all the spices it calls for if you like the heat of vindaloo.

Good luck with Harvard, I have no doubt that you're qualified.

Donemom--I mentioned it in passing in my supplemental essay. It's something I'll have to remember to bring up at the interview Sunday...thanks!! :) How's your son enjoying Harvard so far?

christ, you have like an 85% shot at getting into harvard. Your SATs are A-FRIGGIN-MAZING... people at cc are like, "oh, decent SATs," but they are much much better than decent. Not to mention that you sound funny, cute, and interested... like a real person. You'll definitely get into SOME ivy despite the ORM

I just wish I had a shot to get in somewhere, but with my crappy 2070, typical 3.85uw gpa, only 5-6 ecs, my undecided major and clueless-ness as to what I'm intersted in, I'm basically DEAD.
