how is it? does anyone know?

my cousin was in putnam last year, she really liked it. she told me it was reeally friendly and social.

Putnam's facilities (bathrooms, etc.) are nice and clean. Dorm rooms have been renovated (if I remember correctly), but the ceiling of all the dorms in unit 1 and 2 are absolutely horrendous (it looks like someone absolutely could careless if the ceiling was smooth or not).

Other than that, it's a good place to be.

i'll be in putnam too!

how many buildings are in putnam? when do building/room assignments come out?

putnam is one building in the unit 1 complex. I lived there for one semester and agree with the other posters: nice, social, ceiling kinda weird but not a problem or anything.

how big is the building? how many floors? just anything else i should watch out for?

just an FYI:
just because a hall of was social a year or two ago doesn’t mean it will be social again, it isn’t the hall that intrinsically makes itself social, it is the people who live in it.

It’s the same size as the other buildings…how many floors? Idk. around 10 I’d guess. I was on third floor.

And I think it’s pretty obvious that it’s the people that make the dorm social, not the building itself. But When I was there every room in Putnam was provided a door stop (at least on my floor) so that everyone always propped their door open and people had a higher tendency of wandering in and out, meet new people, etc. I don’t think any other buildings/units do that.

^that sounds sorta dangerous lol.

I wouldn’t prop open my door all the time… it’s berkeley.

what! we were never given any doorstops. (also in putnam 3rd floor) We either had to get our own or make them by bending forks.
