I am a spring 09 transfer. I received a housing offer for the spring. They offered me a Triple room at Wada apartments in Unit 2. I heard that the triple rooms are terrable, but I havent heard anything about the triple room in the Wada. Are the triples in Wada bigger that the triples in the other units? If they are the same size, I don't want it. What are my chances of appealing and getting a double in wada?

Bump....Any Unit 2'ers here? I'm a Unit 3'er...I can tell you that in Unit 3 at least, triples can vary greatly in size; the triples in the middle of the hallway mostly are just converted doubles, but the corner triples are much bigger. One end of the hallway's corners can also be bigger than the other. Do you know the room number?

Wada is apartments.
All 16 other unit halls, Bowles, Stern, and Foothill are standard dorms.

They are not quite comparable

Dont know the room number. I just heard that a triple is really a double with an extra bed and desk and only two closets. Hows that gonna work out with three people? And by the way, hows the food? Where is the best place to eat(using meal points). I see on the website that Cal dining has received many awards, but I hear differently from students.

Wada does not come with a meal plan, because Wada has UC-owned apartments, not dorms.

Wada apartments have kitchens. You can buy non-resident meal plans.

I know that. I plan on buying one anyway because I am not going to have time to cook. How is the food?

My freshman son is trying to get out of his contract which is triple in Unit 3. It is an end room which is bigger and has great views of San Fran and Alcatraz. He's moving into his fraternity house. You might want to ask for that one. He hasn't heard yet, but it looks like they will let him out of his contract.

How can I find out if anyone has been offered a spot in my triple room? (one of my roommates moved out)

Hey Volleyball dad ... is your son Trevor? haha

No. He's not.
