Hehe I feel like such a freshman but.......can someone tell me what furniture is provided in a mini suite? In particular, shelves/bookshelves?

I was thinking that if my desk is facing the wall, not a window, then I might buy one of those rack/shelf things over my desk. Or if there is enough room, could I get a small bookshelf? I have an absolute excess of books. In general though, I just feel like personalizing my room a little more this year and making it more homey. I was thinking rugs, maybe a lamp; any other ideas?

One more question: do most people rearrange the furniture? I know that in the old unit buildings, nearly everyone pushes both desks up against the large window.

(yes I do realize I'll be seeing everything for myself in just a few days, but I'm on Ikea making wishlists out of boredom)

One awesome computer chair. It's quite nifty, really, you'll see. One computer desk with three desk sized drawers. One dresser with four larger drawers. One book shelf with two levels of shelf action.

The mini-suites have two styles of shape, basicallys more cubic or less cubic, ie more like a rectangle/signifcantly longer in one way than the other. Depending on which one you have, you will have different space to work with. You'll see which you have soon enough, and there is an ikea near Berkeley (maybe I'll see you there?).

You can fit a few fridges or a fridge and a chair and some other things. I'd go for personalization- Im thinking along the same lines this year. I saw this show that had a cool rack/shelf thing over the desk which significantly increased shelf and storage space, so I'm considering doing that. It was shaped like an upsidedown squared "U" with many shelves.

I'm not going to lie: I am v. excited for the chair. My butt hurt last year :)

My suite is the more cube-y one; me and my roommate chose it specifically on roomdraw night. I've seen the rectangular one and thought some of it was kind of awkward

I'm looking into wall shelves; found some good ones at Ikea for about $20, and some more at Target. Two shelves...hmmm. I think I'll have to buy something then; I read too much.

Hmm, not sure what you mean. if you're talking about the streetside vs the courtyard side, it's about personal preference, but i'd prefer not dealing with the underhill parking lot construction. if you're talking about beds within the place, they're both nice. shrug
