Simple question really.. I'm rooming in Unit 3 this fall and I'm wondering what is the best way to get breakfast before 8 AM considering that Cafe 3 only opens for brunch and not for breakfast? :/ is going to Crossroads the only option, or is Golden Bear Cafe open that early?

I'm an incoming freshman in Unit 3 with an 8am class too, and I just figured that I could stop by some place on Telegraph. There's a Noah's Bagels on the way to Sproul that opens at 7am along with a few other places.

skip breakfast and eat an early lunch at ramonas. they have paninis (which are good) and rice bowls (which are equally as good but a way better deal)
rice bowls from ramonas are the best food option period. they're pretty good tasting (they have chicken and sweet&sour or teriyaki sauce) lotsa calories and protein, cheap, big...i used to eat 2 most days, and that was my main diet, plus eggs/toast at late night some nights, and the occasional crossroads excursion. then you have tons of points you save from not wasting them at crossroads (i heard its 11 dollars or something this year...true?) that you can waste on whatever you want.

oh and at crossroads, it cost 7.50 for dinner and 5.50 for breakfast last year, but i heard from a guy that its going up to 11 dollars(!) for dinner this year (with, i'm sure, an appropriate increase for breakfast)...not sure if its true or not, but crossroads is effin expensive either way. so i'm pretty sure a bagel that you get as a single bagel will be less expensive than that...

Yea I think GBC is your best option. It's on the way and convenient. You can get bagels, muffins, doughnuts, and coffee. You can also get stuff from the grill like toast, eggs, and potatoes. And you can either eat on the go or sit out on the patio and eat there.
