Hey I got my housing offer and it was a unit 3 triple for spring 2011. Anybody want to trade?

I'm looking for unit 1 or 2 double. Or even unit 1 or 2 triple, maybe even a unit 3 double as well...

Thanks

E-mail ResHall, but good luck. From my experience they very rarely give doubles to people who wound up in triples.

Also, why so apprehensive about Unit 3? It’s great!

because it’s a triple…lol

I HATE TRIPLES! and its in the old ass unit 3 building. unit2 and 1 is where the good stuff is at… ;)

fight for it.

how do i fight for it?

@steeze: You can try emailing/calling but it’s probably not going to change anything. I also got a Unit 3 triple when I requested all doubles and hated the idea of a triple. It ended up being worth it just because Unit 3 was really that great. It only looks older because Units 1 and 2 have half of their buildings renovated but most freshmen aren’t in the newer ones anyway. Unit 3 is also much nicer on the inside and much closer to campus/all the action. Look up other threads here if you want but you’re really not going to find people disappointed with Unit 3.

I just don’t want a unit triple…a 13.2 ft by 13.9ft room with only two closets and two desks, shared by 3 people? I dunno but i dont like that idea…lol

i don’t care about the walking distance since unit 1 2 3 are all about the same distance from campus in my opinion. i actually like unit 2 better because its closer to clark kerr, has the nice turf above the parking structure, and just looks a ton better from the outside. and i like that haha.

I’m pretty sure you get your own closet in a Unit 3 triple…And you definitely get your own desk.

As for the distance, it seems like nothing now but five minutes in the morning makes a world of difference ;)

^^
I commute to berkeley right now. 5 minutes in the morning is nothing to me when it takes me an hour and 10 minutes from my house to my first class on campus haha

according to the housing website at berkeley, triples only have two desks and two closets…
and i just noticed on the website, triples don’t have drawers while doubles do! ***.

I’m guessing you’ve made up your mind already, but I think Unit 3 is better than Unit 1 and definitely better than Unit 2. Not only is it closer to campus, it’s closer to restaurants and Shattuck Ave.

Unit 3 triples all have 3 desks. 2 big desks under one of the beds and one regular desk.

All corner triples have 3 closets, the few middle triples have 2 closets (all closets are double closets anyway, it’s more like 4 small closets) and a huge chest of drawers. All beds have big drawers under them. From someone who lived in Unit 3 for 2 years - storage space is NOT a problem.

But go ahead and believe whatever you want anyway.

haha yea it’s true that it is closer, but considering the distance i travel now, unit 1, unit 2, unit 3 will all be relatively close in my opinion. It’s a what? 10 minute walk from unit 2 to unit 3 at most? distance isn’t really my biggest concern. my biggest concern is the triple when i prefer a double. i wouldn’t even mind unit 3 double if it really came down to that, but unit 1/2 double would be my first choice

edit: after reading flutter’s post i guess i’m not too against unit 3 triple anymore… lol

Maybe distance isn’t a big deal when you’re walking to campus, but you also need to walk to that area for fast food, groceries, bookstore, etc.
