i got a double in unit 3, and i heard that the dorms are pretty old. is it really that bad? and does anyone know when we find out if we got a single gender floor or a co-ed floor?

all i know is that units 1 and 2 were remodeled and unit 3 wasnt. im also curious about what unit 3 is like.

I've been to Unit 3, and surprisingly for the single Unit that hasn't been remodeled, it's still in pretty damn good condition, the rooms themselves are still looking decent, although some of the recreation rooms are definitely in need of a little updating. But that's it, Unit 3 is still pretty good.

We're going to be in Unit 3 during CalSo so that'll give us an idea of what it's like.

i feel your pains.... i'm one idiot who applied for a unit 3 triple as my top choice... and i got it. who would've known unit 3 was going to be undergoing renovations and we would have to dine somewhere else during fall semester...

Are there any music practice rooms in unit 3?

Yes, there's one.

I lived in Unit 3 (norton) this past year and I absolutely loved it! PM me if you have any specific questions.

inside the rooms in the units are the same, outside...now that's where unit 3's a bummer.

i lived in unit 3 aND I LOVED IT

Inside the high rises they're pretty similar, pretty much the same. There are other buildings in units 1 and 2, though.

There are advantages to living in Unit 3.

what kind of advantages Drab?

aha its ok airro i applied unit 3 triple too (and got accepted) because i thought unit 3 was the best...and triple = cheapest... i did NOT know that it was undergoing renovations either. GAH. WHY!!?

I think the renovations are only for the dining area, aren't they? It's not that big a deal, is it?

They've been mentioned elsewhere. It's closest to Sproul, the RSF, the Bear market, Telelgraph, Shattuck, the BART station, to name a few.

are the renovations only for fall semester or the whole year?

And also, Unit 1 & 2 still have construction going on for Underhill Parking lot.

I hear just the fall, and to my knowledge, it's just the dining hall- anyone know if it's anything else?

The underhill is adjacent to units 1 and 2, but I guess it's fair to say they are affected by the construction (mostly noise).

For Unit 3, it's just the dining hall construction.

oh. thats good to know...phew

Sorry to be awakening an old thread, but what is a Unit 3 triple in suite and what are they like? Are they only in Beverly Cleary? How social are they? Are the residents mostly freshmen or upperclassmen?
