Unit Cap?

So currently I am a second year at UCSB and majoring in mechanical engineering, I've been thinking of transferring to another UC, but the thing is, is that I've taken two summer quarters here and with AP's and all, by the end of my two years here I will have obtained 143 units which by most UC's unit policies makes me ineligible to transfer...

UCB's cap: 135 (qtr units)
UCLA: 129
UCSD: no cap
UCD: 120

If you only count my regular terms (FWS), then I only have 98 units. I'm not ahead or anything and am on track to graduate in 2012, but because I took required courses in summers for my major, I filled those up with GE's and other classes in the regular year raising my unit count. Also, if AP's aren't counted, I would have 115 units which works.
I will have finished my GE work at UCSB so I wouldn't need to finish it wherever I'd transfer leaving me only to focus on major classes.

So have I screwed myself over by taking so many classes here? Is the unit rule only for CCC's?

Ap units dont count toward unit cap.
