Hi everyone,
So a little background to start. I originally started my college career at Cal State San Bernardino. I left there and re-entered into community college after my freshman year. I was recently admitted at Cal State Fullerton as a transfer student.I have more than 60 transferable units. I checked my Titan Degree Audit this morning and I realized that since CSUSB is a quarter school some of the units counted from my transcripts on the TDA tool are counted in quarter units. So this means that those 4 unit classes from CSUSB are counted as 2.6 units at CSUF. Most of my units are from a semester based CCC, but due to those classes from CSUSB being counted as quarter units the TDA tool says I am short required credits. For example if you look at my Area A requirements it lists the 3 courses I have completed. The oral communication and written communication requirements were completed at CCC so they have 3 units listed, but the critical thinking requirement was completed at CSUSB so it has only 2.6 units listed. The Area A requirement has a 9 unit minimum, and I have according to the TDA only completed 8.6 units. I have the same problem for some of the other areas where I am short on units also. I have as of today completed my AA-T if that means anything in this case, and I also have records from my CCC counseler that state I have completed all required GE courses for transfer to CSU. I attempted to call CSUF today but they told me to see a counseler after I accept my admissions offer. I do not want to pay the enrollment deposit to accept if my admission is just going to end up being rescinded. I also have admissions offers from Chapman U and UCR. Any advice? Should I just walk into CSUF counseling and attempt to sit down with an advisor even though I am officially not a student?
also here is my total unit count:
SBVC: 49 total semester units
CSUSB: 22 total quarter units= 14.67 Semester
AP tests: 18 total semester according to CSUF AP credit report
Total: 81.67
Did you get GE certified by your CC? If that’s the case, you should be fine. My counselors have always told me that as long as your CC says you’re GE certified, the CSUs will respect that and not require you to take any GEs while you’re there.
