Unit Increase

I go to Pasadena CC, am majoring in Chemical Engineering, and would like to transfer to UCLA. I needed to start taking preparatory classes this spring to finish in 2 years. The class I desperately needed was full. Either I attempt a late add to this class for spring or I have to take it during summer, which becomes a problem because I do not have enough units to take it along with another class I also absolutely have to take during summer. I have no other options after reviewing my plan for the next 2 years.

My question is, would I be able to get a counselor to increase my unit limit? Would an attempt for late add be highly probable?

By units do you mean credit hours? If yes, and you do not exceed the limit by a significant amount, then there is a chance that your counselor/advisor may be able to increase your limit. In my CC you can take more then the max number of credits if you get the Dean’s approval.
Hope I helped.

I think you can finish all engineering prereqs in 2 years without hitting your semester credit limits.

My advice - show up for the first class. In CC, third of the students who sign up for classes do not show up on the first day, so there are almost always some free spots. You can get the registration code and swipe somebody else’s seat.
