USNA2021, you look really competitive thus far. Your GPA needs to be higher, but you are working on that and all the honors and AP classes you are taking look good. Plus, varsity swimming is great (especially for Navy). Your EC volunteer work is looking above average as well as well as the fact that you went to STEM at USNA. Be sure to fill out the pre candidate application/registration so that you are in the system. It’s too early for you to become a candidate (summer before your senior year), but you can talk to your Blue and Gold Officer to find out what he or she suggests, especially for your Congressional district. In December of your junior year, the applications should open for USNA summer leadership. One other tip is to volunteer (summer) to do office work in your Congressman/woman’s regional office to answer phones, get coffee, etc. This adds “Congressional intern” to your resume. It won’t help you get a Congressional nomination because these noms are based on qualifying factors (SATs, grades, leadership, athletics) and not done as favors, but it’s good volunteer work. Try to get your Eagle Scout as well, make that a priority. Be sure you ask your Congressional office when their Congressional Academy night is so that you can get briefings from the various ALO/B&G/MALOs. Try also to get as many leadership positions you can with NHS, ASB, Clubs and Athletics. I think you are on track and you have a very good chance if you keep up the good work!

my only observation is that you aren’t planning on AP Calc BC or AB. When you are an Academy freshman you will be basically amongst 1200 very strong classmates the vast majority of whom have already taken quite a bit more math than you. Also, if you have 3.4 GPA after sophomore year, it’s really tough to get the cummulative average up by that much by the time you have completed junior year. Varsity athletics would help you, doesn’t really matter what sport
