im considering applying to li po chun united world college in hong kong. It seems like i'll have an amazing experience there if I got in. My question is if going to an united world college would increase my chance at university admission at top US schools (ivies, MIT, Stanford, Caltech, etc.) Thanks.

I don't know much about united world colleges but heaps of people apply to ivies (and other colleges behind ivies) from there right? Well, it would be great if you went into the top 10% category with great ecs and acadmic records.. but if you became one of the weakest among the bright students (i'm assuming they are really really really smart..?), like lots of Cs and Ds because you can't keep up with the classes or anything and if other students took all the leadership positions because they're majorly competitive and stuff, I'm pretty sure it will have a bad effect on you.

So if you think you can do average/or better than average, go for it!

UWC's have IB right? so having a rigorous curriculum helps, for a start.

dont do it... its not worth it, you'll ruin your life
