Units per quarter/semester

I am trying to transfer to CAL as a Computer Science major.

I will be applying with a finished IGETC and some of the major classes completed.

The problem is I've been only taking 3 classes (14~15 quarter units) per quarter, and I still got a C in 2nd quarter of Calculus.

Does Cal and other UCs look at how many classes you have been taking per quarter/semester and see if you got a good grade or not? Basically, would I be at a lower chance than someone who took 5~6 classes per quarter and got the same c in 2nd quarter of Calculus like me.

Thank you.

It could be a factor, but what really matters is major prerequisite completion, overall GPA, and major prerequisite GPA.

they do take into consideration the level of difficulty of your course load. but they also take into consideration if you’ve worked in school, and your other responsibilities and ECs. someone with the same grades, quality of ECs and personal statement as you but has 2 or 3 more classes in their workload each quarter i would say is a more competitive applicant than you.
