I am going to be an EECS major at Berkeley, so I thought Foothill would be a good choice. But does living there make it harder to find friends your freshman year than the Units? Thoughts on either dorm would be nice. Also, is it easier to get a double rather than a triple or quad at Foothill?
Thanks!
You can meet a lot of people in the dorms (between having to share a floor bathroom/laundry facilities/etc.), but proximity seems to rule the day. D is a unit dorm - most of her friends are from her floor, and her two closest friends are in rooms either next door or across the hall. A lot of EECS majors at Foothill, but not exclusively. Not sure about Foothill, but getting anything other than a triple in the units in your freshman year is like winning the lottery. Housing is still at a premium at Cal, even if you are willing and able to spend more $ for less people in a room.
