Recs- One is probably excellent, other very good
Essays- My counselor liked them both & said I have a gift for writing. Shrug.
For the personal essay, I wrote about how my love of the American Museum of Natural History in NYC prompted me to take an anthropology course at Brown, and how I not only learned about anthropology within a classroom setting, but also outside of the classroom, from the diversity of my peers... My best friends were from Bengladesh and South Korea.</p>

<p>You have great SAT scores, your rank is excellent (it's clear from Penn's website that top 5% will do a lot for a person)</p>

<p>You have quite a bit of leadership, which will go a long way. With that 800 on the Writing section and your counselor saying your essays were great, they were probably very good.</p>

<p>You have excellent chances at Penn, I think...Isn't it driving you insane? 19 days...I mean COME ON! Well, I hope we both get in. Good luck!</p>

<p>Lots of people on CC who assess my chances say I have a good shot, but I never really know what that means, whether it's less or more than 50%.
Shrug.</p>

<p>But my course was Globalization in the 21st Century (late June-early July).</p>
