Univ. of Pittsburgh Application (dealing with SAT and ACT scores)

University of Pittsburgh asked me the following question in their application.

Have you taken, or do you plan to take, the ACT? They prompted me only to say yes or no. They also asked me the same for the SAT and I said yes.

I have already taken the ACT, but I do not wish to submit in my score since it is lower than that of my SAT. If I say yes, it would be an honest answer, but in that case I would be forced to submit my ACT and may be judged negatively. If I say, no it would be a lie, but in that case I would not have to submit the ACT score and I would not be judged at all. What should I do in this case? If anyone has already applied to this university or knows about application processes, can you please tell me if even if I answer yes to this question, will I have to submit my ACT scores? Thanks.

As far as I know they look at the SAT CR and M, ACT English and Math and superscore between them. So if your SAT is higher in math than ACT they will use that score.

My daughter only took the SAT, twice. Even though her second score was higher in each section she still sent all her scores.

We will superscore the tests you send in, yes. You can always call our office if something has changed in your application status (you decided not to take a test, or submit a score, etc). Feel free to call if you have questions about your specific application situation: 412-624-7488.
