UT Austin and Texas A&M College Station that is. I have been torn between these two schools in deciding where to go to school next fall. If anybody could tell me which school is a better pre med school it would make my decision much easier and it would be very much appreciated. Thanks for any help.

I recommend UT Austin.

me too. i think UT Austin is a fab school...where u can still have fun. Texas A&M is party school all the way...but it's up to you.

School doesn't matter to medical admissions committees. The pre-med curriculum is long on breadth, short on depth (all the courses required by medical schools are introductory courses) and so great programs in one field are unlikely to benefit a pre-med student. If the student happens to major in that field, well major doesn't matter either (matters even less than school attended).

All that said, there are going to be places that are more ideal for you, as a student and being a pre-med. You need to make sure that you go to the school that is the best fit for you. It needs to be the place where you have the most potential to succeed, not only academically, but socially, emotionally, and physically as well. So look at how these schools differ and what things are important to you, not how you believe med school admissions committees will view them.
