So far::::Captin of Basketball team, Youth Leadership of Alabama( I moved up to Seattle from Huntsville, AL last year), Presient of Junior Class last year.(You guys might question yourselves what?? I thought he was a junior this year…or etc… Well, It’s a very long story…so If you need to know, in order to answer my question, then just ask me through AIM: Uofpenn10), and more.
Do you think I would be able to get into Univeristy of Florida? Please let me know…

UF is very numbers driven. They'll mostly go by your weighted GPA and SATs. If you qualify for NM, that's a big plus.

On a side note, does anyone know how much UF looks at EC's? If you have a 2100 new SAT and a 4.8 weighted GPA (5 points for honors and AP, I know UF recalculates) but pretty much no EC's besides a job (money goes to me, its not to support my family), will they care?

UF used to be and is still a very numbers driven school to a certain extent, but they recenty (I believe within the past couple of years) revised their application to be a holistic review of the applicant - meaning that EC's and such are also important. There application reflects that (its all online) and has several sections that asks for extracurriculars and stuff u did outside school.

It would help if your would specify your GPA.....that is the single most important factor for UF admissions. 81% of the 2004 freshman class where ranked in the top-10% of their HS class....the remainder either had high SATs or exceptional athletic or artistic talent.

Anyone else??? PLEASE?? MY GPA IS LOW LOW..

I am currently attending UF, and 28 students of my graduating class (a class of only 130 students) are attending this year as well. Based on experience, this is what I can tell you about the admissions process: Numbers matter. The two biggest factors of the app. are undoubtedly your GPA and your SATs. If one balances out the other, you should be fine. There are always stories of students that get in with lower scores/grades and, of course, anything stunning EC-wise may be the reason for this. On the other hand, I knew students with wonderful EC'S that didn't gt in because, most likely, of their schedule senior year. DON'T opt to skip out on a math or science credit because you don't need it. They want to see a moderately tough schedule.
