Hi guys!

As I was doing my college research, I suddenly realized why I never tried to venture out of the U.S.
My friend told me that Australia has lots of good colleges and that the standard of life there is very high.
I've been to Australia before and I absolutely loved it.
I'm currently an international student with a dual U.S. citizenship.

Can someone briefly share the application process and their experiences?? Is it a lot more complicated than applying to the U.S.?
Also, do they require international students to take IB diplomas? Because I've only been taking APs.

Any answers will be much appreciated!

There’s no requirement for the IB diploma, and most universities do accept SATs and AP subjects for credit.

The University of Melbourne, (one of the top 5 universities in Australia, refer to <a href=“How you're selected - undergraduate study - international applications”>How you're selected - undergraduate study - international applications)
for example, requires a GPA of 3.2 and a SAT of 1800 for their Bachelor of Science. There’s no essays or dossier things as in the US admission process, so their admission process is relatively straightforward. There are some prerequisite subjects for some courses, and some might require an interview.

Be aware though that there’s little funding/scholarships etc. for int’l students, so you’ll most likely have to pay full fee.

If you’ve got any more questions, I’d be happy to help, as I live in Australia.

Hope all that helped somewhat!
