Hey! I'm an Indian student in grade 11. I am interested in applying to Canadian schools as American ones are expensive; I noticed the dearth of information about Canadian Univs on the India forum. So if you guys could help contribute to people like me who'd like to go to Canada for school, it'd be great.

Personally, I'm gonna apply to McGill, U of A, UBC and Western. Are there any other good universities in Canada I should apply to?

Hi! My son, indian, applied to university of Toronto and McGill. He has been accepted at McGill. These two are the best in Canada, from what we have read. Good Luck to you! :-)

@dexter25 I’m not going to apply to U of T. It really doesnt seem to fit me all that much. Then again, I’m sure its a very good college.

@SuperrMom Would you just tell me your son’s SAT scores please? Just so that it would give me an idea into what is a good score to get in. And what faculty did he apply to in McGill? Thanks in advance.

His SAT superscore is 2040 (M800 CR600 W640). He also took up subject SATs , Math L2 780 Phy 780 Chem 780, all in one go. He’s going to be majoring in Chemical Engineering. Hope this helps :-)

@Gobleto2478. Have a friend who got admitted into Mcgill’s faculty of arts and interfaculty ( arts and science). He is from india too. His scores below:

Hope it helps

In Canada a lot of university is offering admission for foreign students, but you must try for the best university. So you can try in university of Toronto. It is one of the best university in Canada. For more information you can read post in this forum http://talk.collegeconfidential.com which are related to your topic.

Though Canadian Universities are cheaper than their US counterparts, I would still require a huge amount of financial aid/scholarships to attend them ( tuition fee+ room and board).

I checked out quite a few universities, but I couldn’t find any full ride scholarship except International Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship offered by UBC.

Do you guys know of any such scholarships in Canada?

the universities in which you are going to apply are one of the best ones in canada. apart from these universities, you can apply at Simon fraser university, ryerson university, carelton university, Ucalgary, Uottawa, university of regina, university of manitoba. They all are renowned schools in canada. moreover you can apply for scholarship in almost all of them.
