Universities in Florida

I am looking at applying to a few universities in Florida- I am already interested in USF, UNF, and UM and currently am aiming to be in a Pre-Med or any kind of MD prepatory undergraduate degree.

I don't really care for the atmosphere/ what I've heard of UF, UCF, or FSU, but can anyone relate a different experience or impression? What about FIU?

Merit-based scholarship opportunities are a must, and I would like to be able to take dance classes (possibly as a minor).

My grades have been a consistant 4.0 throughout high school- combined SAT score is slightly above 1900 and just CR/M: 1350.

Thank you in advance!

Why not take a look at the Florida LACs? Both Eckard and New College offer merit aid and both should have sufficiently rigorous basic bio, chem and physics classes to prepare you for med school. LACs can be great places for med school as has been discussed elsewhere. Do a search for pre-med at LACs threads for more info.

Florida resident or not?

The only Florida school listed in the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1348012-automatic-full-tuition-full-ride-scholarships.html</a> thread is Florida A&M, which for your stats will have tuition, fees, room, and board for Florida residents, or tuition and fees for non-residents.

Rollins is beautiful and can be generous with financial aid depending. Look at the rankings of some of these publics before you seriously apply. If you’re a 4.0 you don’t want to go somewhere where you’re unique, and the grad rate is low. Check them out carefully.

FIU looks like a jail. Try Eckerd, New college, or Flagler

rollins college or stetson

Are you instate or not?

How much merit scholarship money do you need?

How much will your parents pay?

Are you going to retest? Higher Math + CR scores might provide more merit possibilities.

If you’re instate, then Bright Futures will likely be gotten.

If you’re not instate, then your options will be limited for merit awards. UMiami requires higher stats.

Do the USF or UNF websites indicate any scholarships? for how much? what stats are needed?

Florida public schools tend to rely heavily on BF for its merit awards.

A poster above me suggested Flagler & while it is beautiful & a great school, it does not offer a pre-med track. UNF is quite unattractive & is definitely not as prestigious as UF, FSU, & UM.

Are you instate for Florida?

Do you qualify for Bright Futures? If so, which level?

Will your parents pay for the rest of the costs?
