Universities in Japan

Hey I searched for this and I couldn't find anything so sorry if this has already been discussed before.

I know there are some international universities in Japan and I was wondering if anyone knew the names of some good ones. Anyone with any information please post. Thanks.

do you know japanese?

No I don't. I should have worded myself better. I know there are schools that have classes in different languages and in some the majority is English.

I don't recommend going there.

If you're in the United States, I strongly suggest going to an American university.

Tohoku University
Kyoto University (My dad has Ph.D. from here.)
University of Tokyo
University of Tsukuba
Waseda University
Keio University

I consider these to be top colleges in Japan.

It's really tough to get recognized by American universities if you get a degree in Japan.

I must say that Japanese universities are in a world of their own.

Many professors don't speak English, so it's difficult to get letters of recommendation.

Thanks for the advice, makes sense. I plan to go to Art School for my grad degree though so I'm not sure if recommendations are going to be a major problem. I think going abroad for a year might be better.

If you really want to go, then I think that's a good plan too.

Temple University has a campus in Tokyo. It is the oldest U.S. University in Japan. TUJ.edu

International University of Japan (IUJ)
