Universities still accepting applications?

Hey guys so recently I got rejected from almost all the schools I applied to and now I really regret not applying to more. Can you please give me a list of schools that are still accepting applications for fall 2013

Check with schools that do rolling admissions.

Well, you don’t want to waste time/money on schools that won’t work, so tell us:

your GPA
your SAT breakdown or ACT
the amount that your family will pay
your major

No point in applying to schools that would be too pricey, but if your parents’ budget is open wide then you’ll have choices.

[List of Late Deadline Schools- Locate Colleges with Late Application Deadlines at Petersons.com](http://www.petersons.com/college-search/late-deadline-schools.aspx)

*GPA: 3.7 UW/ 4.25 W
SAT: 1930
Sat physics: 730
Sat math 2: 680 *

Are you a bio major? Are you pre-med?

What is your SAT breakdown and what is your budget? (how much will your parents pay each year)?

I see that you applied to Calif UCs…if you qualified for Blue and Gold, you won’t get that at other schools. You would get the Cal Grants at other Calif schools, though, if qualified.

My intended major is biology or something related to math. My family would be willing to pay anything under 35k.
Sat breakdown:
Math: 670
Writing:640
Reading:620
(Super score is 1960’with math being 700)

I have pretty good ec’s and essays

What is your career goal?

You need to apply to OOS publics that are still taking apps. Bama might still accept you. UAB would - almost for sure. Both are good if you’re premed or similar major. Good Bio depts.

What else do you want in a college?

A list comes out around May 7th with schools that still have openings.

I looked at your apps they all seem to be in California. Are you willing to go out of state? How far? In what direction? Are you willing to go to Canada? You said that you liked urban. How important is that.

$35K is not an unreasonable budget, but may not be enough.

Arizona is probably a little more - deadline May 1
Arizona State has no deadline and is around $35K
Oregon State has no deadline and is around $32K
Washington State has no deadlines and is around $37K
Simon Fraser College in British Columbia seems to be still accepting applications
Clemson May 1
Iowa Apr 1
Iowa State July 1
Truman State - no real deadline

Linfield College in Oregon is often on the list of schools with openings. It’s pricier, but you might get FA or merit

Beloit College in Wisconsin is worth a phone call and sometimes still has spaces this late.

Let me know if you want more.

The list ClassicRockerDad is talking about is called the NACAC space availability survey. You should be able to find it from this page [NACAC Homepage](http://www.nacacnet.org/Pages/default.aspx) in early May. This document talks about last years list http://www.nacacnet.org/media-center/PressRoom/2012-Press-Releases/Documents/SAS2012FactSheet.pdf

My plan is to become a physician. So any university that could help me get there. And I am willing to go out of state but kind of wanted to go to a bigger city like Chicago, New York but I feel like those will be way too expensive. I don’t want to go to a school where there is nothing around. Sorry for sounding so picky I know that by waiting this Long I don’t really had the right to be that picky because of my limited choices

Iowa is about $36,000 per year for tuition/fees/room/board. They have some scholarships specifically for CA residents.

Iowa State is about $28,5000 per year. They also have some merit awards for OOS students.
https://www.admissions.iastate.edu/award_calc/freshman.php

Both are pretty strong in math and biology. Iowa State has more of a STEM culture.

A couple of ideas: most of these will run between $35K and $40K depending on your lifestyle

University of Massachusetts-Boston 4/1 deadline
University of Pittsburgh - rolling - sometimes on the list of schools with places
CUNY schools like Hunter College, Queens College, and Brooklyn College might appeal to you. Those are mostly commuter schools in NYC but they have rolling admissions and are pretty affordable OOS even with the cost of NYC housing.

You don’t have to go to a “big city” like NY or Chi to have things around. Many mid-sized/lg cities have lots to do. It just sounds like you don’t want “rural.”

UAB would likely award you some merit (still awarding to OOS students). It’s VERY good for pre-med. Has an excellent med school (UAB med school is one of my son’s med school acceptances).

Again, Bama might accept you…it is late. Bama has a good number of Calif students. Calif ranks #5 in states sending kids to Bama.

There are 3 Calif recruiters…go here and find out which one would be yours…
[Undergraduate Admissions - The University of Alabama](http://gobama.ua.edu/states/california/)

If interested, don’t email using those links. Instead let me know your recruiter’s name and I’ll get you their direct email address. If you then contact that person, he/she can walk your app thru…especially since you’d be full-pay.

Don’t worry about the COA at Bama…it’s very padded since it includes the pricey supersuites. The standard doubles are MUCH cheaper. And, after the first year, students don’t need the pricey meal plan.

Bama has a brand new mega-sized Science and Engineering Complex…over 800,000 square feet of new academic and lab space. Gorgeous and state of the art.

The campus is gorgeous, the academics are strong, and the people are friendly…

You can also visit the Bama forum here on CC…very active…and meet people from all over the country…

Common App site has a search tool that allows you to find all schools still accepting applications.
